Finance - General Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Performs balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate representation of business
  • Assists with the timely and accurate production of financial statements
  • Daily audit of the cage/count room and food and beverage
  • Daily reconciliation of assigned clearing accounts
  • Assists in the month-end inventory closing
  • Generates invoices for accounts receivable
  • Follows up on any outstanding accounts receivable
  • Any other duties as required by management

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of audit procedures as well as evaluating, analyzing and testing internal control systems
  • Minimum 2 years work-related experience
  • Prior cash management accounts receivable/payable experience an asset
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to coordinate at all levels of the organization
  • Highly developed analytical and creative thinking skills a must
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration an asset
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Self-planning skills sufficient to schedule, organize and carry out work assignments according to established work plans, adjusting work schedules according to changing priorities
  • Developed judgment and problem-solving skills sufficient to interpret and/or analyze factual and conceptual information with the ability to adapt general procedures or approaches when formulating responses to problems
  • Manages workload independently and works well in a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must display leadership skills and the ability to multitask
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

This position is in an office setting. The hours of work may vary, and overtime may be required during peak business periods. Standard hours may be different in the service industry.
